I've got four more to post now. The first one was written by Dom and I together.
Plan "B":
I've just descovered that
my plan is doomed to fail.
I'll have to take plan "B"
In order not to bail.
But knowing me, I'm unprepared.
My thoughts, they do set sail,
To find myself a better plan...
One that will prevail.
~Plan "B" by SkinnyGreenMan and IornorThe Cookie Jar:
The cookie jar is empty,
and I'm the one to blame.
I stole the cookies one by one,
It was my little game.
Maybe no one will notice,
But is it all the same?
To clear my concious, I must confess
The reality of my shame.
~The Cookie Jar by SkinnyGreenManDr. Wilbur Wong Ming:
My name is Dr. Wilbur Wong Ming
And I'm here to announce a desease.
I'll bring to you one subtle warning,
That it's transfered by eating green peas.
This desease, you might say, is a deadly one,
Though it's symptoms are really quite few.
You might be outside, having some fun,
When a stampede of cows runs at you.
The medical team up at the research towers
Calls this desease "Cow-attackta-mumbo-jumbo-idus".
To cure it, you need magic powers
Even if only the slightest.
~Dr. Wilbur Wong Ming by SkinnyGreenManThe last one is different. It's written to describe the outline of one of my fantasy story ideas. Basicly, I'm considering using this poem on the back cover of the book to describe it, instead of using a standard plot teaser. Actually, this might be a good test to see if it's descriptive enough to be a back cover, or if you're left not quite understanding what it means (note: this is a completely different story then the one i've alerady written) . Anyway, the book is called "The Midnight Forest", but the poem is called "The Forest at the Edge of the Universe".
The Forest at the Edge of the Universe:
Reality is relitive --
Holding meanins seldom seen
For there are sections of reality
Where none of us have been.
Filling up the tiny void
Between reality and thought,
Serving as the road
Between what is and what is not,
There is a place -- a world,
An alternate existance.
In many ways akin to ours,
But yet there is a difference.
For in this place to which
The universe is tied,
There is a land where cultures
Of humanity reside.
They call this land "The Midnight Forest",
For never is there day.
You may be wondering how to get there.
I tell you, there's a way.
Certen special people
With certian special gifts,
Find that when they're sleeping
Their minds are set adrift
To breach the tiny void
Between reality and thought
To travel down the road
Between what is and what is not
To wonder though the blackness
Of this alternate reality
Following a trail
From their world of normality
Traveling away,
Until at last they see
The dark and silent forest,
Where they remain to be
Until their body wakes,
And calls the back to the height
Of the universe -- Of planet Earth
Where they stay until tomorow night.
~The Forest at the Edge of the Universe by SkinnyGreenManDoes that work well for a good back cover? Basicly, the story idea is there are these people who, when they go to sleep, arrive in another world (in a dream-like state) . The bad guy is one of these people, so they good guys are trying to stop him from doing "bad guy things" in the dream-like world, and also trying to find him in the real world (earth). The book kind of ends up hopping back and forth, as the main character sleeps 1/3 of the day and stays awake the other 2/3 .
