I hope so. He's vital for this part of the story.
UPDATE 1/14/08
Hey, guys, we're about to hit Cliffport, so I had some ideas that might be useful...
Cliffport is a town that I hope to be able to use in a book someday, but seemed to fit in so well with this continent that I was hoping to use it. Here's a rough sketch of the town I have in mind, but it can be changed for our use however much is necessary.
Cliffport is pretty much what it seems. A town based on the edge of high cliffs, the town is split into two distinct areas, Highcliff and Lowcliff. An inn can be found in Highcliff, along with about three quarters of the commercial wares, like shops and such, along with most resident.
Lowcliff is strewn with docks, and is practically a town built upon water (Think Kilika in FFX, though much busier). You can find many of the more exotic wares in the Low shops, along with most bulk trade, and even special orders can be made for the right price (Fat chance we can afford anything like that, but I'm not positive, and we might have tradeworthy objects).
Highcliff and Lowcliff are connected with an elevator pulley system. Lots of trade goes on between the Cliffs (As they call themselves), so elevator traffic has been made toll-free for guests to Cliffport (Residents pay a tax, but 90% is payed by the businesses, which thrive by the prosperity of the town.
According to my IC script, there's a high chance that the wizard is moving toward the town, so we can decide if the town survives
I'm thinking he'll arrive between noon and afternoon, so we'd have time to decide what to do and prepare if necessary.)
I might give a detailed analysis of my under-Relic sword named Drakken, including how it's special and how it's *not* so special. For now, know that it's a sword that is only special or even known to the locals of the area I come from, it's extremely hard, very sharp including the tip, and its weight is very close to a regular musterd sword, if not a little heavier. It's also extremely connected to my character's story, so I don't intent to part with it for anything less than my life. It has a lot of story attached to my no longer existant home village, I think (Might change this later)
Finally, what I'd like Draco to do if you guys pick up the story while I'm gone. Draco wishes to find the relics before the wizard gets ahold of them. Draco has a vague knowledge of the wizards background, but mostly by myth and legend, and recent knowledge.
IF------Draco comes across Renaldo (Including meeting at Cliffport)
--THEN------Draco will take back his swordbreaker.
IFF-----Party chooses to stand up to the wizard
--THEN------Draco will join the fight
IF------Party flees or other things happen
--THEN------Draco will leave for Banagher, by nearest port.
If it's possible, I would be fine if Draco stays in the party and is taken care of by SGM (He's the only one who really knows where this is going, after all). But if not much happens, I'll be back in the summer. Hast Tostadas!
P.S. What do you all think of making an Appendix giving details of the mechanics of special items including the artifacts? Maybe it would be nice to decide on exactly how these things work. The gun and my sword would be good to put there too. And doesn't SGM have some magical items or potions from a long time ago? What about those? Even if not everything is known about them, details could be added as we go.
