Speed does not equal skill. And without speed these guys would be nothing. However they're relatively entertaining to listen to and watch. They're decent, however I don't quite enjoy the shredding that they do... It's fast and all, and incredibly hard to play (because of the sheer speed) but it's not as well composed as other artists. They have alot of potential, but IMO they have to work on composition and orchestration of their songs a little more before I'll admit that they're the next Jimi Hendrix.

I am quite impressed at their skill and the smoothness of their music, and I was glad to hear that they would be added to Guitar Hero III. Did you know that their drums are set up so they get two beats every time they pedal? Kewl stuff.

OK firstly I would like to say that I like Dragonforce alot, they are incredibly fast and skilled. I think partially the reason I like them so much is because their music is partially influenced by video game music, and because I play the guitar I am very impressed that they can play that fast and have it sound that good. Now in regards to this Speed does not equal skill. Firstly in my opinion speed does equal alot of skill, alot of people could never play that fast, even if they practiced for years. Now I'm not saying that pure speed alone is all you need, it does need to actually sound good which in this case I feel it sounds awesome! And you say without speed they would be nothing, I think thats true just because thats how they focus on playing. Saying that without speed their nothing would be like saying "Without your skill your nothing!". And as for the composition/orchestration comment, I feel that their music is really well done, and I love how they have done their music. And thats how I feel about whats been said, and my opinions.

He's really good, you should check out Joe Satriani. He's the guy who taught Kirk Hammet how to play guitar. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G3_(tour) Those guys make some really nice sounding stuff when they play together.
