User Bios
getting to know the person is one thing, what's been going on in there is something else.
my solution is to wipe the board (the threads can be preserved in a sub board for a while)
and everyone can have thier chat in the lounge as it's the place intended for it.
casefiles would be more strictly modded with intent to keep them on the topic of the person they are about. SPAM is another problem, which i currently delete every time i see it.
Trolls another thing i have noticed lately is an increase in TROLL traffic. these trolls are people who post demeaning things about other things, most commonly in the suggestions forum as it's where guests can post. from now on, report a troll to either me or scott so we can log the IP address and ban it.
Suggestions greengames is open to REASONABLE suggestions, just thought i would re-itterate that for everyone who has an idea, it can either be sent to an admin, or post it in the suggestions board.

yeah i got a few suggestions, how about you leave the bio's the way they are? better yet, how about we eather get posts everywhere, or get rid of the post counting thingy. why does it matter so much? its not like a high post counts helps you with anything, seems pretty pointless to me, just something to brag about ( which bugs the heck out of me). i think you guyz take this forum to seriously, this is spoz to be fun right? and ill tell ya the only fun ive had here in over a year has been talking to caroline michael and mathhew in the bio's and over pm's. ( and michael and mathhew left after the posts stoped counting in the bio's (see what im saying?).

it's because the bios aren't bios anymore. i think scott would agree with me that something needs to be done.
and you're right, post counts DON'T matter, however they should be earned without spamming which i see a lot of in the user bios section.
and like i said, the threads would be preserved in a sub board where you could continue on like this.

a troll (most of the time is a guest) is someone who posts stuff that i would rather not have on this forum, for instance there was a guy named "**** the world" who posted something like "i ****ing hate you all, ****the world"
i promptly deleted his post before thinking that i should have banned his IP address.

that just might be it. There probably just want to make people mad by posting that kind of stuff.

I think the post count is cool, but should be limited to game related boards. Bios, the Lounge, and maybe Role Play should not be included (Plus whatever I didn't think of). Bragging rights don't bug me, 'cuz modship sorta bests that anyway, but I see people that have no interest in vidz becoming experienced members, and that bugs me more than all. My fanaticism of video games should not be ignored.

never get rid of the posts in role play, NEVER!, and modship does not best the rest, if a mod has 3 posts and a non mod has 700 posts, then the non mod has more bragging rights then the mod OK?

there should be no bragging rights, your post count doesent mean anything, just a way to measure how much free time someone has. ( ive been a member for 2 years and have 460 posts, what does that tell you)

well yeah, there are no bragging rights, and as for you being here for 2 years and having 460 post.....you post a fair amount.

Postcounts were intended to be a fun little counter attached to forums to keep it interesting. Sadly, most forums I've seen have big postcount problems.
We had the option of adding the Reputation system which is another counter that gets increased or decreased by other users. Basicly, you could raise or lower someone's reputation once per post and not twice in a row for the same person. There are worse problems with this system, however. On some forums, people will "trade" reputation, or purposly lower anyone else's reputation just because. I'm glad we didn't add it to green games lol.

NaughtElf has a point about the whole "Free time" thing. As for post count in the roleplay, that's up to the admins. I don't got any prob with that, 'cuz it's kinda like a game in itself.
