OK NetHack is a bad graphic, kinda boring looking game where all you do is walk around in a dungeon, trying to get somewhere below level 20 of the dungeon with the creatures continuously getting harder, while you try to get a amulet and once you get it you have to get back out. It's a really odd, and yet cool game, it runs basically like D&D and that type of stuff, but one good thing is that since it has bad graphics, and is old you can down load it for free , So if you want to try NetHack click here

Actually, Nethack's always been free. You're also allowed to modify it so long as you never charge anyone for it. You can read there rules about it in their "Agreement" thingy.
I loved it when I killed a Hobbit, and picked up an Elven Mithril Chainmail+2 (Or was it 3?)
What's everyone's favourite class? I like the Barbarian, and, naturally, the tourist.

My favorite class by far is the Wizard. Wizards are awesome.
Hey Daniel, do you think it would be possible to modify NetHack so that it is multiplayer? It would be great, even if all you did was fight each other.

Multiplayer? Well, considering the game is turn based, they would have to alternate turns. <shudder> No, that wouldn't do. You'd have to redesign the whole engine, unless you have a specific idea in mind.

Alternate turns isn't that bad. My favorite class is either Wizard or Ranger, I can't decide

Like I said, my favorite class is Wizard!!! Once, when I was a Wizard, I started out with a wand of Polymorph and changed my pet into a very awesome red dragon. Here's a pic. So, has anyone here been to Sokuban? I'm, not sure if that is what it's called, but it's a weird tower with blue tiles and lots of boulders that you have to move around in the correct order to get to the next level. It was hard but I finally got to the top once... only to be killed by about 25 monsters..... So, what's the weirdest way that you have died in NetHack? I think the weirdest way for me was the time I had a run in with a Succubus... I died from... "over exertion".....

I died by kicking a wall too much once. Sort of a noobish thing to do, but I was still getting used to characters with low strength.
