OK what is the best online game. I love Guild Wars it's the best online game I've ever played. My 2nd favorite is Maple Story, and 3rd favorite is Runescape. See Runescape seems good until you play about any other online game. So post your favorite game here.
P.S.Guild Wars Rocks!!!!!

I've played several online games, but RuneScape certianly takes the cake. From what I hear, Guild Wars is pretty good but... It costs. RuneScape is free, or if you like to go further with it, you can pay 5 dollers for a membership for a month or something. $50 just to see if you like a game is a bit much for me. Even still, Guild Wars (I've heard) is pure combat. For that reason alone, RuneScape is better.

Well I'd have to say that any real gamer knows that you have to pay for a game to know if it's good(unless you have a friend or something that has the game). And I didn't ask what game costs the best I asked what is the best online game in playability. I mean in Runescape once you do something like a quest it's not that fun to do it again unlike Guild Wars where there are different classes to chose from so the game has replayability.
P.S. What other online games have you played Skinny?

This poll seems more like the best online game that doesn't cost that much. Runescape has more to do than Guild Wars but Guild Wars is very addictive.

However, the fact that there are games that you don't have to pay for imeadiately is quite nice. As for playability... Thats what RuneScape members is for. First off, you have 21 skills (15 of which are non members) to level up. But eventually that would get tireing, but in members, they put out 2 to 4 new quests a month, as well as a few other updates that can catch your attention. So, for free you have enough stuff to work on, and every once in a while you can pay to get more.

the decision of "best" computer online game cannot be decided until you've played them all. I have played 3 of them - RuneScape, World of Warcraft, and Guild Wars. lets compare:
Graphics: RS - 3 (i'd give it a two, but it is 3D) WoW - 8 (great graphics, but not the best ever) GW - 10 (has pretty much the best graphics of any game i've played)
Playability: RS - 4 or 8 (4 for F2P, 8 for P2P) WoW - 10 (it just keeps going) GW - 10 (i've "beat" the game... or so i thought - turns out i've barely started)
Comedic aspect: RS - 7 (parts are pretty funny) WoW - 3 (the people are pretty much the only thing that makes it funny) GW - 3 (see the reason for WoW)
Items: RS - 5 (it's about average) WoW - 7 (it's got more than RS, but not very custamizable) GW - 10 (because of the way weapons and stuff are put together, there's a practicly infinite possibility of items)
Updates: RS - 1 or 10 (1 for F2P, 10 for P2P) WoW - 9 (not quite as many as RS, but more than GW) GW - 8 (they average about an update a week, but every now and then the come out with a HUGE update - sorrows furnace for instance)
PvP: RS - 6 (PvP is dumb in RS, the only reason it doesn't go lower is because they have the duel arena) WoW - 8 (battlegrounds is awesome, but you're gonna get ganked no matter what) GW - 10 (every site i've been to comparing GW vs WoW says the GW has the best PvP of any game on the market - I agree, you can get instant pvp anytime you want 4 vs 4 or 8 vs 8, AND the pvp actualy affects gameplay for you and other people all over the world)
Price: RS - 10 or 4 (free or $5 per month) WoW - 2 ($30 to buy, $11 per month after that) GW - 7 ($30 better than most, because most people spend waaayy more than 6 months as a RS member - oh and the price drop is because of x-mas)
Servers: RS - 7 (you have to log out to switch servers) WoW - 1 (you create a charactor on that server and it's stuck there) GW - 9 (create a charactor and you can switch servers at will any time you're logged on)
lets add up our totals: RS - 43 for F2P, or 50 for P2P WoW - 48 GW - 67
GuildWars wins!
how does guild wars stand out so far above the rest? it's because it shines in EVERY department, not just perfect in a few.

You gotta play Maplestory so you can add it to your list. Graphicswise, it has to go in a special catagory, 'cuz it's a cool 2-D sidescroller.
MAPLESTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think maplestory could use some major improving because it is basically an only combat game even more than Guild Wars, but doesn't even have PVP.
It also has allmost no quests. But it is not even version 1.0 yet I think.

Thats true - but thats only half the reason I was disilusioned with Maple Story. It was fun, but it was MODERN! They have taxis, modern weapons, and yet... you still use medieval equipment. This clashes very badly.

Maybe, but you can use cool and/or funny weapons like a purse or a plunger.

OK Skinny I personal think it's stupid to not play Maple Story because it's REALISTIC, I mean real life is like that. P.S. Happy Camper why didn't you vote that Guild Wars was better .

Maple story is no more realistic then runescape... In fact, I'd say runescape is more realistic. Both games have magic... So I'm not sure how you can claim either is realistic. However, reality is 3D not 2D. In reality you don't find taxis sitting on trees, and modern mixed with medieval. It doesn't happen. The weapons in Maple Story make it very unrealistic. If I remember correctly, silly weapons such as the janitors mop are good weapons. That may add a comical element to the game, but its very unrealistic. You don't just go out onto a nearby street and see giant jumping orange mushrooms that just appear again when you kill them. You don't go out to get firewood by searching for a log that attacks you and has an axe stuck in its head (whereas in runescape you actually cut the logs). I can see practically no way in which: it's REALISTIC, I mean real life is like that. The only thing I can see that your refering to is exactly what I said in my privious post. The one modern city and the taxis, and a few modern items. Most of the cities are medieval, with no technology, and you figth with magical abilities... But then, theres one that IS modern. It doesn't mix.
