Diamond and Pearl - the two pokemon games for DS. They won't be comming out for a while, but I'm gonna go ahead and start a thread about it to see who/if anyone is interested in getting diamond or pearl. I know I am. They will be treadable with Ruby, Sapphire, Firered Leafgreen, and Emerald. Theres also a "Downstairs" in the pokemon center (visible in a screenshot) . People are wondering what extra features await down there. Day and night is visible ingame again (similar to gold and silver). They've revealed a few of the new baby/evolutions: Baby Snorlax (Munchlax) Baby Sudowoodo (Bonsly) Baby Mr Mime (Mime Jr) Baby Mantine Sneasel's Evolution (Weavile) Electabuzz's Evolution They've also released pictures of a few other pokemon ( serebii.net/diamondpearl/pokemon.shtml).

dangit u did make one XD i missed it completly oh wells hope yer ready to talk d/p then XD .
so what do u think about the new battle system where attacks are physchical or special depending on the move instead of the type ? i am 50 / 50 on it cuz my power house slaking is super weak in d/p terms becuz hyper beam is now special but i also like it becuz pokemon like absol who have massive att power but their moves are special can now be used to their full potential

I'm liking it - though i'll have to completely reassemble my team (based around Shedinja, who used mainly shadow ball -.- )
Hitmonchan sounds like a really awesome pokemon now with ice and fire punch and his high sp.def

well hey what is your tema now ? and no offense but i cant mess with the shed , depending who u face either he is going to be the allstar or the first one to die. specialy if u are facing cheesy popular power houses becuz the moment tyranitar shows up shed dies from sand storm not to mention toxic is a popular move which will kill it also , and hail plus any pokemon packing any fire or flying type move.

(A quote from the thread "My Shedinja Team") : Whenever I plan a team, I like it to revolve around one or two pokemon, with the rest of the team strengthening that one or two. This team revolves around Shedinja, and its pretty annoying to run into. Some teams totaly obliterate me, and some are totaly oblierated by me. Alrightey, well, here is my team: Shedinja@lum Berry Trait: Wonder Guard Nature: Adamant EVs: 255 Atk, 255 Speed Shadow Ball Silver Wind Aerial Ace Protect The center of my team. I start off with a protect, but as you may see, T-tar could really mess me up here. If my opponent uses a move that can hurt Shedinja, I swich to one of my 5 other pokemon, if not, I blast my opponent with my three sweeping moves. -- Slaking@leftovers Trait: Traunt Narute: Adamant EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Speed, 6 HP Hyper Beam Earthquake Shadow Ball Bulk Up In 2V2, slaking's Earthquake helps because it doesn't hurt Shedinja. Slaking has a 100% Resistance to Ghost type attacks, so I can swich off from shedinja when I predict a ghost move. Hyper Beam is deadly to anything except Rock, Steel, and Ghost. I use Earthquake on the first two, then Shadow Ball on the other. Bulk up is a filler move, but it helps if I get burnt. -- Kingdra@leftovers Trait: Swift Swim Nature: Modest EVs: 252 Sp.A, 252 HP, 6 Def Surf Ice Beam Attract Rain Dance Kingdra fends off the fire types. If someone uses a Fire move on Shedinja, I can swich to kingdra to null the damage. Rain Dance gets rid of Hail and Sandstorm, both of which would be fatal to Shedinja. It also acrivates Swift Swim, and Kingdra can survive long enough to take just about anything out, because its only weakness is dragon. Attract helps buy me even more time. Surf and Ice Beam are there for damage . -- Magneton@quick Claw Trait: Magnet Pull Nature: Modest EVs: 252 Sp.A, 252 HP, 6 Sp.D Thunder HP Ice Rain Dance Thunder Wave Magneton is probably the least effective member of my team due to its low speed and its many weaknesses, namely ground, and a lot of the flying pokemon have ground moves (Aero, Skarm, etc.). It does have the ability to supprize Ground pokemon with HP Ice, and it can Rain Dance away Sandstorm and Hail. It usualy gets a Thunder Wave off before dieing, so I guess its usefull. It protects shedinja against Flying type moves. -- Steelix@lefotvers Trait: Rock Head Nature: Sassy EVs: 252 Sp.D, 252 HP, 6 Atk Earthquake Rock Slide Toxic Roar Steelix is my tank/psuedohazer. Its weakness to Ground really gives it a disadvantage, but it still works, and it can take over for magneton if magneton faints. It is there to block Rock type attacks from Shedinja. Earhtquake is its main attack move, and Rock Slide takes out the rest. I am wondering if I should get rid of Toxic for Double-Edge, because he has Rock Head, but I'm not sure. -- Hitmontop@leftovers Trait: Intimidate Nature: Adamant EVs: 252 Atk, 252 HP, 6 Def Triple Kick Mach Punch Rock Slide Rapid Spin Hitmontop raps up the team with its dark-type blocking abilities. Mach Punch takes out Reversal/Flail users, Triple Kick takes out Sub., Rapid Spin pritects Shedinja from Spikes, and Rock Slide helps supprize Flying pokemon. ---- My strategy actually works pretty well, but I like it because its different then just about every other team. I intend to re-form it when I get Diamond / Pearl.

thats a really balanced team even if shedninja dies XD but teams like yours either will get pwned completly or completly pwn no inbetween . send out swampert and half your team is dead . and there are many other pokemon combinations that could just own u . good news is your team is so well built and since most ppl dont use teams half as nice as yours id say ud win atleast 80% of your battles

Ground seems to be my main weekness, but now that just about all ground moves are turning into special attacks... Well, I don't know if thats good or bad lol.
I'll reform the team when I get Diamond / Pearl. Anyway, since the thread is supposed to stay on topic, any further discussion on my team should go in the "My Shedinja Team" thread.
Back to Diamond / Pearl:
Earthquake and Shadow Ball will be turning special, and probably all Dark moves will be turning physical... That will really change the way things work, since Earthquake and Rockslide were the most common physical sweeping moves.

that will make it alot easier for special types such as fire and electric pokemon to protect them selves form physical sweepers which is awesomeness becuz i want to bring an electric tema into d/p

What I'm wondering is if they'll just take the "Direct" attacks and make them physicall and the others special, or if they'll make some of the non-direct physical.
Direct meaning the attacks that trigger the abilitys like Cute Charm and Poison Point.

New minigames are always good.
Its supposed to be compatible with Ru/Sa/FR/LG/E, so I'm thinking you'll only need one DS to trade between Di/Pe and Ru/Sa/FR/LG/E. In preperation for Diamond and Pearl, I'm collecting one of each of the current 386 pokemon in my LG version to trade over. Well... That is, I'll collect all that I can. Deoxys, Mew, Celebi, Ho-Oh, and Lugia are out of my range (I never had pokemon coloseum).

i really hope that new scorpion pokemon sucks . im tired of seeing everyone on sppf posting about how they plan to own with that pokemon . it just erks me when certain pokemon become "standard" i.e charizard , salamance , all legendaries . i want sum real compitition from people using pokemon they actualy like and love not just strong pokemon with really easy to use combos .

I agree. But as they come out with more pokemon, more and more diverse strategies surface, and eventually the "standard" teams may not be so good in comparison to those who actually think through a strategy of their own.
