Why is Luigi short in this game but tall in the other games?

Duh, memory.
In lots of old games, to preserve memory, programmers would only make half or quarters of objects. Back in the day, programmers were really scraping together as much room as possible for their games.

I thought that Luigi just had a big growth spurt.

well logically Luigi just was lazy in the games and would always slouch, but when he realized that all the games were being named after Mario he decided to stop slouching and hence why he got taller

So who do you think would win in a battle, Mario or Luigi?

Luigi all the way, he's taller, can jump better, has green fire(it's just cooler looking), and can run on water, how can Mario beat that HUH!?!

Green fire is much cooler than red fire, but what I am wondering is what makes the fire green?

Obviously the helium that makes the fireball fly straight. (It's not in all games, but I'll go with it.) I must admit, though, that red fireballs are harder to dodge. But anyone that can jump higher would win a battle.
Y'know, the new DS game is called "New Super Mario Bros.", but it's really more like SMB3. I kinda wanted to see a more original look.
